3 minutes, 2 players, 1 ball: In each “battle” two players square off in a one-on-one duel against each other. They take alternating 20-second turns with the ball, using their time to show off the best of their artistic moves to the sounds of breakdance and hip hop music. In the finals, the judges will be evaluating the three minutes flow based on control, creativity and style.

This is Red Bull Streetstyle, which in 2008, offered an international platform for the world’s most talented ball artists to test their skills against each other. After 138 qualification tournaments in 44 countries, the international elite met in Brazil’s football Mecca for a final showdown to crown the Red Bull Street Style Champion 2008. Displaying a truly unique urban style, Arnaud "Sean" thrilled the crowd by mixing his skillful ball tricks with breakdance moves and was crowned world freestyle soccer champion leaving behind participants from 44 countries.

Among them, our very own representative, Alex Pitsalidis, who –just a few months earlier, was crowned as “the best greek “alternative football player”. The 20 year old, had sent the best freestyle video, displaying his great skills in manipulating the ball, taking rightfully his ticket to Brazil, where he worthly fought in a very difficult group, against powerful rivals from Argentina and Brazil!
