About Red Bull Street Style

Individual creativity is vital. The rules for the final are set.

Three minutes, two players, one ball! This year Red Bull Street Style threw its doors open to the world’s freestyle football elite and they certainly answered our call. Competitors from no fewer than 47 nations will battle in more than 100 local qualifiers leading to national finals. Each participating country will be able to send one baller to the Red Bull Street Style World Final where they finally fight for the title of world’s best freestyle footballer. The World Final is scheduled for 16-18 November in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The format is simple: in each “battle” two players square off in a one-on-one duel against each other. They take alternating 20 second turns with the ball, using their time to show off the best of their artistic moves to the sounds of breakdance and hip hop music. In the finals, the judges will be evaluating the three minutes based on control, creativity and style.

The winner advances to the next round. There are no limits – other than the standard prohibition on the use of hands and a requirement that the ball and performer stay within the competition area.
