AFTER THE QUALIFYING THAT ATTRACTED LEBANESE FOOTBALL LOVERS
Beirut hosts “Red Bull Street Style” finals
All players are ready to hit the finals of “Red Bull Street Style”, a challenging occasion for young football lovers in Lebanon, to compete and show their sporting skills. The finals of this unique competition will be held in Beirut next Sunday on Ain le Mreysseh cornice. Qualification rounds were held in Zahle and Ehden as well as in Horsh Beirut and witnessed wide participation from football lovers and freestylers.
32 boys and girls from all over Lebanon (11 from Ehden qualifications, 11 from Zahle qualifications, 10 from the last qualification round in Horsh Beirut) will participate in the finals. A jury of renowned football players among which Lebanese international player, Maestro Musa Hujeij, will supervise the competition. Red Bull Street Style’s rules are easy as 3-2-1: three minutes, two players, and one ball form the battleground, in which ball control, skill and style are king. The freestylers face off on a special stage, seven meters in diameter, and need to alternate ball possession every 20 seconds while displaying their most wicked ball tricks to the rhythm of break dance and hip hop music to impress the judges, beat their rival and move on to the next round. It’s all fair game during those 180 seconds, except using the hands.
The last qualification round held in Horsh Beirut last Sunday was a great success due to the presence of a large number of freestylers. It was characterized by the presence of many girls among whom three qualified to the finals in Beirut.
