VIENNA (AUSTRIA). With ball control, precision and the right style, you could be representing your home country at the World Finals of Red Bull Street Style 2010 in South Africa. It’s all about dancing with the ball, being creative and busting out the freshest style in combination with the music to set yourself apart from the crowd and take you up to freestyle football heaven!
So if you think you have what it takes to succeed reigning world champion Sean Garnier (FRA) then head to redbullstreetstyle.com and upload a video showing your best tricks (application phase runs from January 01 to January 31). A panel of experts will then decide which freestylers will be invited to the Austrian National Finals in Vienna's “Skate Area 23” on 6 February 2010.
As one of the 16 lucky applicants you will be invited to the National Qualifier, where one final challenge awaits: you will have to battle it out head-to-head with the other finalists in front of a star judging panel for the right to represent Austria at the World Finals.
The winner of the National Final will not only receive the title “best freestyler in the land” but also a coveted ticket to South Africa to battle it out against the best ballers from over 50 nations at the World Finals in Cape Town on 28 April 2010.
In 2008, Faruk Onmaz (AUT) drew inspiration from the Red Bull Street Style motto “3 minutes, 2 players, 1 ball” as he progressed all the way to the Last 16 at the World Finals in São Paulo (Brazil).
