“Each province has been different. It’s great seeing what KZN has to offer. The talent here is a lot older than in the Eastern Cape, and it seems like its only guys who are taking part.” Chris sounds surprised that the girls aren’t even interested in watching him perform, “The girls are just on their own mission!”
Chris and General are doing many shows a day, all over the province, “We visited Verulam, it was cool to see some guys there adding their own flavour to the freestyling.” While Chris loves socialising with all the locals, he hasn’t done much partying at night, “My legs are sore by the end of the day, I’ve just been taking it easy at night, saving my energy for the roadshows.”
General is also finding the roadshows tiring, in fact it sounded like Chris had to wake him up to chat to us on the phone! “It’s going well, but yoh its tiring man.” General is enjoying building his profile in the freestyle arena, “We’re like celebrities here,” he laughs, “Everyone knows us now, and everyone knows Red Bull. They see us in our Red Bull gear and they think, “Respect!””
General is keeping an eye on the talent, because he is taking part in the Regional Qualifier in Durban at Gateway Mall Palm Court on the 11th of October. Chris is supporting his friend, “I think General has a good chance at the qualifier. He’s got talent and he brings a good vibe. When he performs its crazy man, I think he’s going to do well.” Good luck to General!
Check back on Friday to find out how the rest of the roadshow went for Chris and General.
