Arijan Babickovic is the winner of the first Red Bull Street Style in Serbia

Belgrade, Serbia, 09.01.2010 – In front of the full Delta City shopping mall was held the biggest freestyle football competition in Serbia – Red Bull Street Style. The winner Arian Babickovic will represent Serbia on 14th of April at the World Final in Cape Town, South Africa.

In the hot atmosphere of Delta City, 16 of the best Serbian freestyle football players showed their acrobatic skills. The audience new to reward the contestants with applause, and as the competition was coming to an end, the audience was becoming lauder and lauder.

After the competition Arian Babickovic said: “This is one of the best days of my life, to be the winner at the first Red Bull Street Style competition is a big deal for me. I congratulate to my opponent in the final Milos Ratkovic on a strong fight. This win has come as a reward to my hard work, I couldn’t be happier! I would like to thank the organizers and the audience for their incredible support. For the first time people had the chance to see a competition like this, and their reactions give me the stimulus to train even better and represent Serbia in the best possible way at the World Final. I think that this competition was the right thing for the freestyle football in our country and that the next year there will be even more competitors in the qualifications and that the quality of the competition will be on the higher level.”

The three judges Milos Ninkovic(famous Serbian football player), Miran Pirner and Branislav Jovanovic followed the event with great excitement.

After the competition Milos Ninkovic said: “Everything these guys showed was on a very high level. Now I see that I can learn a lot even from the guys who are not active in the world of real football.”

Unfortunately the announced judge Edgar Davids due to cancellation of most of the flights from Amsterdam to Eastern Europe over Germany, couldn’t be physically present at the competition. But Edgar was persistent to see the competition in Serbia, so he followed the whole event via video link, and not wonting to let numerous fans down who came to see him, Edgar has tuned in live and from TV screens set on location said hi to everybody present. Ivan Tesanovic and Miljan Miljanovic who led the program spoke with Edgar and on their question when can we expect to see him in Belgrade, Edgar answered: “I promise to visit Belgrade soon, and wish all the best to the winner!”
