World Star Weah on the Red Bull Street Style Judging Panel in South Africa
Three-time African Player of the Year, European Player of the Year, FIFA World Player of the Year, African Player of the Century – George Weah is one of the most decorated footballers to have ever played the Beautiful Game and a true footballing legend of modern times. Now the former winner of the FIFA Fair Play Award is set to join Head Judge Edgar Davids (NED) on the judging panel for the Red Bull Street Style World Final 2010.Despite growing up in poverty in Liberia, Weah managed to establish himself at the very highest level of the game in Europe, winning major trophies in three different countries and the respect of the football world as he took to the field for clubs including Paris Saint-German, AC Milan, Chelsea FC, Manchester City and Olympique Marseille over the course of an illustrious career spanning 14 years. During his time as a player he also gained a reputation as a true ambassador for fairness on the pitch, winning the FIFA Fair Play Award in 1996.
Since retiring from football in 2003, Weah has devoted his life to helping the people in his war-torn home country of Liberia. Weah has also been named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
His experience as a player at national and international level and his humanitarian work make him the perfect choice to join the other members of the star-studded judging panel at the Red Bull Street Style World Final 2010.
